I had never heard of Penderecki, but being of Polish heritage and the bargan Naxos price I tried this. It is very pleasing to me. Moody in spots like Sibelius, lots of color, interesting use of drums. Symphony #4 shines out with its strong winds, brass and percussion. Interesting but not scarry brazen modern. I will be trying the other two Penderecki Orchestra Works CDs in the Naxos Orchestra Works series based on this one.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
