Overview

Have you ever been in any kind of relationship - love, work, family, friend - where a little red flag went up in your mind? Have you ever asked yourself “What was I thinking?” or “Why didn’t I pay attention to that feeling I had about this situation?” Then, you should read Penelope's Cruise. Penelope’s Cruise is the story of a woman who honors those gut feelings as she searches for her true love. Penelope’s Cruise is Dodie Milardo’s first book. It is a romance novel about a woman named Gina, who dives back into the dating scene after her husband passes away. After several dating experiences, one quite intense, she finds herself back at dating “square one.” She is turning 50 and decides to celebrate her birthday by taking a cruise. On the very first day of the cruise she meets 37 year old Greg and they plunge into a steamy shipboard romance, which she skeptically believes will end when the cruise ends. Instead, Greg sticks around. But this voyage is not what it appears to be. Gina must navigate her way into Greg’s soul so she may find the way to her happily ever after ending. Meet the Author

Dodie Milardo is the author of the romance novel, Penelope’s Cruise. She is donating 90% of the net profit from the sale of her novel to charitable organizations. Dodie is also the owner of To Give Is Divine, Ltd. whose mission is to develop and implement creative, innovative fundraising campaigns and donate a significant portion of the net profit to charity. She is using Penelope's Cruise as her company's first fundraising campaign. Her motivation is simple. “My heart goes out to people in need – I just want to help others.” Aside from writing and running her company, Dodie enjoys golf, ballroom dancing and volunteering.

Dodie is often asked how this all came about. She says, “An event occurred in my life and as it unfolded and I related it to friends, I kept hearing, "You should write a book!" I was never a big writer, or reader for that matter. In fact, I was a math major in college. So, writing a book was not something I ever had a burning desire to do. However, after hearing my friends' encouragement over and over, I decided to give it a try. Penelope's Cruise just spilled out of me. I am convinced that divine guidance was involved, that the book is part of a "bigger plan" from above and that I am meant to use it to help others.”

    Just OK

I am almost done with Penelope's Cruise. It's not quite what I expected but not so bad that I won't finish it.
