Ucu Agustin lahir di Sukabumi pada 19 Agustus 1976. Pernah bekerja sebagai wartawan Kantor Berita Radio 68H dan penulis pada sebuah INGO (International non government organization) yang bergerak di bidang transformasi konflik. Cerpen-cerpennya sering dimuat dalam berbagai media di Indonesia.
Setelah sempat menjadi kontributor untuk almarhum Majalah Pantau, kini penulis tergabung dalam Sindikasi Berita Pantau. Bersama beberapa teman, akhir tahun 2004, mendirikan penerbit independen Kebun Ide, dan pada Desember 2005, Ucu Agustin memenangkan “JIFFEST Short Documentary Script Developmnet Competition”. Beberapa waktu yang lalu, ia baru menyelesaikan film dokumenter tentang hari dan detik terakhir sastrawan
Pramoedya Ananta Toer.
