"This book will do a lot for the world." - Bill Cosby

Although you may recognize the more intuitive techniques in People Tools, this sourcebook provides explanations and helpful examples from a vast collection of different tools designed to help you further expand your own existing repertoire of skills. Some of the useful "People Tools" in the book include:

1. The Belt Buckle. When words are different than action (The Belt Buckle), trust the Belt Buckle, not the words.
2. Buy a Ticket. To make something good happen in your life you have to participate.
3. Catching a Feather. An alternative to the endless chase, this Tool reveals how to attract people you want to be closer to.
4. Patterns Persist. Prior actions are predictive of future behaviors.
5. Catch Them Being Good. Rewards are more effective than punishments.

People Tools is organized into 54 chapters. Each chapter offers a life-changing insight. "Use them to live well, and your life will grow better for it." -Jack Kornfield, psychologist, author, and founder of Spirit Rock Meditation Center

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly

Fox imparts business advice and general wisdom based on his years of experience as a successful real estate mogul, father, husband, and writer. Each chapter presents a distinct "people tool," which he defines as "a behavioral technique you can use to change your outlook." These tools include: "The Belt Buckle" for perceiving potentially unstated intentions of others, and "Target Practice" for making goals more achievable. He reframes the business concepts, such as of sunk cost and leverage as broader life lessons, making his insights dynamic and relatable. He provides examples from his life, family, and friends to inspire readers to take risks and consider failure to be "the foundation for a potential success." Chapters begin with sage quotations from sources like James Joyce, Benjamin Franklin, Anais Nin, and Martin Luther King Jr., and Fox draws from many popular parables and proverbs. Overall his positive outlook and substantial business acumen lend themselves to a wealth of insights on life, work, and interpersonal relationships. The author's conversational style of prose and wide ranging examples makes for easy reading and dynamic advice. (Jan.)

Not Surprising it’s the #1 Amazon Bestseller
I was browsing the Amazon list looking for something to read and saw this book at #1, so I thought I'd give it a try. There's no flashy cover, and no gimmicks, it's just a really well-written book. It's organized in a user-friendly manner, and can be picked up and put down quickly without losing too much. The tools, while one or two can seem simplistic, are actually very insightful. I never expected that a billionaire real estate mogul could write such a relatable, and often touching book, but I was pleasantly surprised. I think anyone who reads this book will come away with at least a few new “tools” that they can apply to their business dealings or even personal relationships.
