He knows there will be those who will want to kill her when they learn of the old magic carried within her. But the moment Brann tastes Syndelle's blood and feels her hidden power as his companion Rafael mates with her, he resolves to claim her, to possess her. A muscular arm slipped securely around her slender waist, pulling her against his rock hard body. A large hot hand clamped tightly over her mouth. A powerful hand. Strong enough to snap her neck like a chicken’s wishbone.

She tried to fight against his powerful grip but realized immediately she'd only waste her strength. So she stopped fighting and stiffened like a corpse in his arms. Her senses swirled as his masculine scent swarmed all around her. God, he smelled so good. Silly to think such a personal thought when she was about to be murdered. But she couldn't help it. Her mind desperately clung to the delicate combination of leather, spicy soap and the hint of tangy woodsmoke. His bristly cheek brushed erotically against the side of her face, making her feel as if they were chained together in achingly seductive dance.

"Don't scream." His voice sounded low and hoarse in her ears. Ragged, as if caught in the grips of a massive cold. But soothing too. " I'm not going to hurt you. Do you understand?"

Sara nodded weakly, almost believing him. He removed his hand from her mouth, leaving the other one to linger steadfast around her waist.

He held her close. Oh so close. His body heat slammed into her like a furnace. But through the magical spell this man cast upon her, Sara could feel something hard and cylindrical pressed firmly into the small of her back. A gun!

The details are written wrong. Its noteven about that. Completely different story. Its really about this man who has amnesia who wanders to this country home where a young widow helps clean his wounds and they work together to find who hurt him and why. Great story. Some explicit sex scenes but not overly so. Overall a great who's did it story.

    Good who done it.

I actually enjoyed the story idea and twist and turns but be forwarned it get into too much sexual situations to really be an added help to the plot. Didn't need to be that sexually informed so just jump over that part and you should enjoy this book.

    Strange

The plot was good, enjoyed the storyline. But the sex was too raunchy not romantic. I want to get hot andin love ,not needing a shower. How many of us use the "c"word.? The plot written by an adult the sex by a porn addict

    Good Mystery/Thriller

This was the 1 st book I have read by Jan Springer. I thought the book was a great mystery/thriller. Set in a for real area in Canada. I can tell she does a lot of research for her novels. The characters were so real to me. Their love genuine. I would have given this novel 5 stars except for the constant erotic sexual parts of the story. I know it stated some erotic parts, but it was constant throughout the book. I found myself skipping 20 or 30 real pages at a time just to get back to the terrific mystety plot. I feel it took away from the story and the beautiful love Sara and "Tom" had for one another. I enjoy mild bedroom scenes in a novel, but really, enough is enough! I do highly recommend this novel to adulys only. You will enjoy the characters, the page turning plot, and the rustic setting. Good job author! Vallie

    Greaat Great read

Story line was totaly believable. A little mystery, a little romance a little police corruption and a little action. Love to see a man who genuinely has a heart even if he doesn't remember who he's supposed to be.

'Kiss Me, Kill Me, Thrill Me' site gives an 'A'

An unexpected delight! I simply loved Peppermint Creek Inn!!! It had amazing atmosphere, a unique, complex plot, and extremely likable characters. I literally could not put it down! The story flowed smoothly, professionally. Most of suspense had me sitting up straight, mentally scrambling to figure out the answers to the multitude of dilemmas the protagonists faced. The romance was sweet and touching. The entire story had such a charming 'community' feel to it, like Rachel Lee's 'Conard County' stories and Silhouette's '36 Hours' anthology, that I found myself hoping for more Peppermint Creek stories. Sara's sister Jo would make a great heroine (and I'm rooting for Garry, Sara's father-in-law, to be her hero). Even Dr. Smokey McKay and 'Sue from the drugstore' have discernible heroine potential!
