Overview

Helping children adapt to the addition of a new baby to the family can be fun. Although a sibling's initial expectations may not be met, there is a lot of humor and love in the often daunting process! Children will delight in the large, colorful and textured illustrations, and the message that it is OK to be annoyed by the baby.

Percival Penguin: Priscilla's Baby Brother is based on the author's observations and experience bringing a new baby into her own family. An only child herself, the author was often surprised and amused to observe the expectations vs the reality of a new sibling in the house.

The child waiting at home for a new friend to move in and play is often faced with a crying, pooping demand for his mother's time and attention. The author hopes that this book can help ease the transition and prepare the child for the stages of infancy and eventual fruition of his dream for a new friend in the house.

About the Author

The author, Marilyn Davis, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Master of Science, is a former public school teacher.
While attending grad school she ran an in-school suspension program at a middle school in Florida. The attendees had a strict schedule of work done in silence. Ms. Davis found herself cutting and ripping bits of paper and forming illustrations during the day. At the end of a year she had written and illustrated three children's books in the Priscilla Penguin series. The first book released is Percival Penguin: Priscilla's Baby Brother.
