Overview

(Previously published as The Italian's Perfect Lover.)

Falling for the perfectly handsome Alessandro Cavour, Count di Montecorvio Rovella, is the last thing archaeologist Emily Carlyle needs as she recovers from the physical and emotional scars inflicted by her ex-boyfriend. But she can't avoid him when she finds out he owns the estate where she's discovered an ancient Roman site.

Restoring one particular mosaic on the site has become an obsession with Emily – an obsession which Alessandro can't understand. He has no interest in digging up the past because, despite appearances, he bears his own scars. Consumed by guilt over the death of his wife and son, commitment-shy Alessandro lives only for the pleasures of the present. But he hadn’t reckoned on falling in love. And love, he discovers, forces difficult choices...

The Italian's Perfect Lover is a fantastic book with characters that are full of depth and the chemistry between Alessandro and Emily is electrifying making it a definite must read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really wanted to like this book and it could have easily been 5 stars IF we didn't have such an insecure female lead. All Emily seem to think is she is not beautiful enough and good enough for a gorgeous hunk like the hero. I like strong women who are strong and not always crying over any little thing. Sheesh it seems as though her feeling are always hurt. Talk about insecure! Get over it already!

Such a great book. My eyes were glued to the book from beg to end. Really sad that it ended so soon. Wished it was longer. Loved the story and it was well written. Highly recommended!

This book had the potential to be a great story about recoverung from a difficult past to have a great future, but it fell flat. The female lead was so caught up on her past it was almost unbelievable, and the male character was so stereotypical in terms of a man dealing with his past it was boring. The plot was never really deeply developed and it seemed like the sex scenes were the fall back to drag the story on longer since there was no solid plot to build in. While i liked the resolution, it was totally predictable and pretty rushed so the only thing that was actually resolved was the set of issues in the relationships and not really the individual problems. Overall it wasn't an awful book, but i probably will not be reading more by this author in the future because i prefer an actual plot over a series of sex scenes with a poor plot.

It was a good read. Although I expected more for the ending, more confrontation or action.

Well, I've found a new author whose writing is excellent. Loved this book and went back to buy all her others to enjoy. Written with sensitivity and a depth that sets it apart from many of the other shallow romance novels. I could barely put it down once I started reading and have archieved it for future reading pleasure. If you enjoy a good novel that is well written I would recommend this book.
