    Great Book for Dog Seekers

This is actually the SECOND copy of this book I have. The first I gave away! I can think of no book that has ever brought me and my wife 12 years of happiness. It was upon reading this book and finding the KEESHOND that we learned of a breeder living 10 miles away from us! Rare for this breed! I particularly recommend this book for someone who has never had a dog. Which breed you get can depend on many factors and this book is thorough on how each dog gets along with other animals, children, activity level, health issues. This book is also great for a mismatched couple--i.e., one wants a dog and the other doesn't. Just leave a copy for the one who doesn't and soon you will have a dog!

    Easy to read and understand.

We came across this book in a most unusual way. The author used a picture of one of our dogs in this book, and then she sent us a copy. Since we have been dog owners, we have purchased a large quantity of books with topics from how to choose, how to train, how to show, and how to care for. I must say, this is by far my favorite in the how to chose catagory. I highly recommend this book to everyone who is interested in acquiring a puppy or already have a home full of them.

Don't get a dog without reading this book!

We purchased this book to research our options. We wanted a dog that suited our family's lifestyle and needs. Because of this book we have found the perfect dog for our family and adore her! We still refence the book freaquently for its educational and entertainment value. We are so thrilled with our first dog that we are now researching the purchase of a second. This book is right on the mark and easy to reference regarding each breed's characterists, strengths, temperament and disadvantages. You pick the one that suites you. I would recommend every perspective dog owner, even if you have had one before, review this book before determining who your next canine campanion will be.
