Overview

Parchment craft is the art of cutting, perforating and embossing parchment paper to create delicate, lace-like designs. The specially designed paper can then be used to create handmade greeting cards, stationery, table decorations, gift wrap and more. Written by a veteran of the art, Parchment Craft offers an exciting array of projects that will appeal to all age ranges and capabilities.
The book begins with a comprehensive chapter on materials and basic techniques, such as types of paper, perforating and embossing tools, how to trace a template and coloring your designs. There are 15 attractive projects that guide the reader through various skills and applications of the art including: gift tags, bookmarks, lampshades, picture borders, birth announcements and more. Simple step-by-step instructions and ample, large how-to photos ensure a crafter's success. Within each project, important details are shown with additional close-up photos for added clarity. Finally, special gallery pages illustrate variations on the technique explored in the projects and offer added inspiration and artists' tips.
