Overview

A personality text with a personality! If you're looking for a personality survey book with character, then The Personality Puzzle, Second Edition, is your unequivocal choice. Numerous instructors and students have written to Norton expressing how much they enjoyed David Funder's personal writing style, keen insights, and critical treatment of current and past theories.

Highlights of the Second Edition: Expanded coverage of the cognitive approach (including a new chapter with an integrated approach to cognitive and trait therapy), streamlined presentation of the psychoanalytical approach (reduced from four chapters to three), substantially updated coverage of the biological and cross-cultural approaches, and a new edition of the highly successful companion reader Pieces of the Personality Puzzle.

He is editor of the Journal of Research and Personalityand a former associate editor of the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. He is best known for his research on personality judgment and has also published on the delay of gratification, attribution theory, and the longitudinal course of personality development.
