The book is chock full of information, 342 pages in double columns of smallish type, and the typography and design are very pleasing. The binding is even sewn in signatures, a rarity in paperbacks these days. One can quibble with some editorial decisions -- like a couple of column-inches devoted to Cleopatra's life just because that lady happens to appear in a sideshow visited by Aubrey -- but most of the information here is good solid stuff not readily accessible elsewhere. A far better companion, in my view, than the King/Hattendorf efforts. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
