Meet the Author

The Editors: Danny Weil is an attorney who left law to become a kindergarten, first grade, second grade, junior high school, high school, junior college, juvenile justice system, and university teacher. He is the author of Towards A Critical Multicultural Literacy: Theory and Practice for an Education of Liberation and the recipient of the California Association of Bilingual Educators Teacher of the Year Award in 1991. He is Director of the Critical Thinking Institute, which serves school districts throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.
Holly Kathleen Anderson is a bilingual primary teacher in the Central Coast of California and has taught kindergarten to sixth grade for the last twelve years. She has edited many books and is currently a fourth grade teacher and a mentor teacher for the Santa Maria-Bonita School District in California. Ms. Anderson was a teacher in Nicaragua during the war in 1985 and is keenly aware of how to teach children to think critically.
