A heartwarming story about second chances

I loved this book and the other Jane Austen diaries books by Jenni James. This one is a reworking of Persuasion and it really followed the plot of the original quite well. I liked Amanda and felt everything she did as I read along. Gregory was such a sweetheart especially in the end...loved the email he sends her! I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys a heartwarming story about second chances.

This is an awesome book! I love the character and the struggles she go through are relatable to any teenage girl. Out of the three books of the Jane Austen Diaries that are all ready out none, for me at least have topped. They are all so great but to me these are definitely meant for teenage girls. Your a great writer Jenni James, thank you for publishing appropriate book that still have a love story with humor and total girl drama

Amanda's family doesn't appreciate her, and the fact they have lost all their money only adds to her continued invisibility. It doesn't seem to affect her, because she never really cared about the money of the prestige that came with it. She is content being a normal teenage girl. And she is best friends with Greg, who tells her that he wants to date her their sophomore year of high school. Her friends are appalled and convince her that she shouldn't date him. So she does and he ends up moving away before she gets the chance to apologize and take it back. Fast forward three years and Greg, now going by Gregory shows back up with everything he would need to get Amanda's friends approval to be her boyfriend, but can he forgive her for being so easily persuaded? And, now that he's rich and attractive, will he really be content with Amanda, or will he go after one of her richer more attractive friends?
I think many of us can relate to making a mistake when it comes to love. You will find yourself relating to Amanda and wishing you could help her out, or hit Gregory for being such a dumb boy.

This modern, young, fun adaptation of Jane Austen's Persuasion is absolutely brilliant. I laughed and cried and chewed my nails wondering if Amanda would really be with Gregory again and if everything would turn out right! Read it! You won't regret it!

I love this Jane Austen series!!! The modern re-telling of Persuasion was so much fun to read. The characters are great, as well as the twists. The only thing for me is I was trying to figure out how these characters fit in with the characters from the previous two novels--and they did!

Amanda went along with what her friends wanted her to do three years early and broke her crush's heart. Gregory moved away, but when his family moves back to town and buys Amanda's house (they had to sell, due to the economy), those old feelings come rushing back. Gregory has changed and has seemed to move on. Can Amanda get over him and do the same?

I thought this was a cute, fluffy, clean teen read and it was a lot of fun. I can't wait for the next two books to come out.

Another wonderful story by Jenni James; I absolutely love the Jane Austen Diaries series. All four books are by far my favorite books I've read this year. Persuaded and Emmalee were my favorite Christmas presents I received. When I got home Christmas evening I started reading Persuaded and didn't put down the book until I finished it in the middle of the night. I love the way Jenni uses the characters and events that Jane Austen did but turns them into a modern situations we can all relate to; like four-wheeling in Moab instead of a walk to the Cobb in Lyme. The character Amanda Ellis became an instant favorite of mine. She was just as nice and sometimes to a fault as Anne Elliott was. It’s the perfect classic tale of girl meets a boy, he’s geeky but she still likes him. She lets friends talk her out of being with him and breaks his heart. Big Mistake! He comes back years later and he’s hot, smart, and very successful... And he doesn't want to have anything to do with her. Amanda has to deal with the choices she made. I love that so many guys are into Amanda but she is completely clueless of her effect she has on them. The song "She doesn't know she's beautiful" kept playing in my mind as a theme song for this book. It is a great adaption and wonderful read.

    A real page turner

I couldn't put this book down once I started reading it. I've read it twice in the past week. Its a grear modern telling of Jane Austen's Persuasion. I highly recommend it. I also love how it uses minor characters from her other books to tell this story.

What a sweet romance. I really enjoy Jenni James' books. They are always clean and simple, and just make me feel giddy! Persuaded is written like Jane Austin's Persuasion. Amanda is a really sweet girl that is always nice to everyone and keeps the peace, but is persuaded by friends when she should have followed her heart. Gregory is the wonderful boy that is made just right for her. It takes them the whole book to get past their pride and admit it to each other, and the journey was fun, and sometimes frustrating. Okay I was frustrated a lot, but it was a good frustration. Highly recommend to those looking for a good, clean, sweet romance.
