When I was a kid, I remember sitting next to what seemed like the humungous speakers of my grandparent's stereo listening to this in album form.
I was so excited to find it on BN.com.
Though pieces of the humor in the first and title track stand the test of time, the references to communist Russia are a bit dated. What the album loses to staleness in the opener, it makes up for in creativity in the following tracks.
"Variations on 'How Dry I Am'" is brilliant. It's the kind of whimsical musical comedy I wish was being made nowadays.
"Peter" may have been the impetus for my initial interest, but it's the whole package that keeps me coming back to this classic.
