Peter and Wendy

Peter and Wendy is the classic 1911 novel by J.M. Barrie, based on his 1904 play Peter Pan. It tells the story of Peter Pan, the boy who refuses to grow up, as he takes Wendy Darling and her brothers, John and Michael, on a magical journey to Neverland. There, they encounter the Lost Boys, Tinker Bell, Captain Hook, and the villainous pirates, along with mermaids, fairies, and other wonders.

The novel explores themes of childhood, imagination, adventure, and the bittersweet nature of growing up. While Neverland represents eternal youth and freedom, Wendy ultimately realizes that growing up has its own importance.

Peter and Wendy has inspired countless adaptations, from stage plays to movies (like Disney's Peter Pan) and retellings.
