    A world without Color

This book may not be appropriate for your children but I am raising a child to live in a world with color. I found this production of Peter and the Wolf a great way to experience and discuss art with my six year old. He lives in a world with color and I'm happy to teach him to develop his own views and ideas. I didn't particularly like the cat drawing but how terrible would a world without color be?

    book is not kid friendly

The illustrations are neither appropriate nor accessible to younger audiences. This story was a favorite of my husband as a child, but this book was disappointing because we can't share it with our young children.

    Fantastic!

I LOVE the creativity expressed musically by Gavin Friday. Not only are the traditional orchestral instruments presented here, but also unusual instruments like banjos and harmonicas. The 'indecent' argument comes to naught - Bono (and his daughters) drew a cat with the chest of a woman. If this is 'indecent', you'd have to also classify 60% of all world art as indecent. And this is just a crude drawing. Get real! This is a pleasant and creative rendition of the symphony, well complemented with visuals with drawings/paintings by Bono.

    Not for kids

I'd heard a story about this title on NPR, and I thought it would be great to read with my son. I picked it up from bn.com, but fortunately, I flipped through it before reading it to him. It had at least one illustration that I'm not going to show my six year old son, and I doubt many others would, either. The illustration was of a 'Pussycat', and showed human-like anatomical detail that wasn't decent. I'm sure the music is great, and the illustrations were decent quality, but I don't put picture books that look like children's books on my shelves if they've got indecent pictures.
