Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen (PBGV): A Definitive Breed Study

I have just finished reading the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen by Valerie Link and Linda Skerritt. I found it full of new information and facinating to read. The authors have done themselves proud.

Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen (PBGV): A Definitive Breed Study

This is a book which clearly reveals the co-authors painstaking research, their ability to assemble it and their good fortune in finding a publisher willing to undertake the production of such serious work on, what is, lets be honest, a minority breed in global terms. The first two thirds of the book guide the reader beginning to PBGV standards, via French Venery, Evoloution in France, Hunting traditions, the breed in Great Britain, North America and other countries. These eight chapters contain a plethora of detail and it comes at a rapid pace. With such richness of text, a comprehensive index is vital and a very good one has been provided

This will become the Standard Reference Book for the Breed

The authors have done meticulous research into the background and breeding of this wonderful French Hunting Hound. It seems to fit the bill as an essential volume for all PBGV owners and as a reference for would-be owners and judges
