Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Erika Clark
Did you know that dogs always have wet noses or that dogs and cats are not the natural enemies some believe they are? Question how much you know about pets with a book filled with fun true or false statements on different animals students may see every day. A student can learn why cats chose to scratch on posts and why the feline creatures arched their backs when people or other animals approach them. Not only do the authors include facts about dogs and cats, but they introduce information about exotic pets such as canaries and parakeets. Formatted in colorful bold text, students can also use the vivid photographs to better comprehend important facts on each page. This book will be very useful for a lesson on responsibility and how to care for personal objects or belongings. If a student in the classroom has a gerbil and does not know if his or her furry little pet likes to be held or not, this book will surely give that student a sense of how to take care for it from well organized tips provided in the text. This student can learn how to appropriately handle his or her gerbil and signs that informs the student what the gerbil likes and dislikes. Part of the "True or False" series. Reviewer: Erika Clark
