For anyone who didn't like "The Phantom of Manhattan" or "Love Never Dies", this book is for you! Wonderful writing throughout and a new twist on the Phantom's life after the end of "The Phantom of the Opera." Being a fan of the other sequels, I can say I was pleasantly surprised at the plot of "The Phantom of Valletta." It was funny on occassions (if you've read the original Leroux novel, you'll find humor in the references made to it here) and a tear-jerker in some spots. Loved it, and those of you looking for a different view on Erik, our beloved Phantom, will, too!

Vicki Hopkins has woven a beautiful, intricate tale that will make you think you have everything figured out, and then she throws you a curve ball. I throughly enjoyed reading this story and it is one of my favorites now. :) I will eagerly wait for the next novel to come out of this brilliant mind.
