    Not worth the time or money.

    This is just about the worst collection of so-called horror stories I have ever attempted to read. In a misguided effort to transcend the usual blood and gore of the genre, the authors and compilers have produced nothing of horror..just horrible, pretentious, artsy-fartsy, dissonant prose. It was bad Lewis Carrol on acid. News flash, guys... Even intellectuals appreciate a well-told story and entertaining verbage. Maybe, if you're lucky, this book will be discussed on some community-access channel by a couple of bored academic types at 11:30 at night. The true art of story-telling has been sent down the toilet in this quest to "create art." I would be embarrassed to be included, were I an author. In trying to elevate the genre, you destroyed it.
