Meet the Author

New York Times bestselling author Julie Leto actually hates hearing ghost stories. . .mainly because she’s a self-avowed fraidy cat. On ghost tours, she is known to wear the rosary bracelet that she was given as a child (which was blessed by the Pope, according to her grandmother) and to announce loudly that any ghosts in the vicinity should show themselves only to the other people on the tour and not her, because she’s just there to hear about the history.

She does, however, love writing ghost stories, especially when they are super-sexy, mysterious and fun. The Phantom series was conceived of very early in her career, but she sold the revised idea, along with two sequels, fourteen years after Damon Forsyth, the hero of Phantom Pleasures, first stormed out of her brain. Now that she has the rights back to the series, she hopes to write the second trilogy very soon and answer the final questions about the gypsy curse that plagues the Forsyth family.

Julie lives on the west coast of Florida with her daughter, a spoiled dachshund, a haughty lynx-point Siamese and a wide range of relatives all within driving distance. Readers can find her at www.julieleto.com, on Facebook and as @JulieLeto on Twitter.

In Phantom's touch we get to meet the another Forsyth brother - once cursed inside an object, this time a magical sword, Aiden is released by Lauren Cole, an actress (quite a scandalous profession in Aiden's time). Aiden is quite an entertaining character, and I dare say I may have liked the second book even more than the first. Lauren Cole is another strong leading woman that isn't going to let some silly thing - oh say, like a man suddenly appearing out of thin air - slow her down. She has goals and she will see them finished - mainly completing her last movie with her ex-husband as the producer. Aiden's goals are far different. Number one is to get out of the sword permanently, and then go find his family. Once the K'vr get wind that a powerful magical artifact has turned up, they close in quickly and stop at nothing to get their hands on the sword. Aiden and Lauren must put aside their own goals to save each other.

Action movie star Lauren Cole wants to be taken seriously as an actress, but is contractually trapped to perform one more thriller as Athena for her ex-husband Ross. She is especially angry with her former spouse because he refused to give her an antique sword he purchased in Germany for her. Lauren steals the weapon.

As Lauren practices with the ancient sword, she liberates warrior Aiden Forsyth from his entrapment inside the weapon. However to his disappointment he is not totally free of the curse that first incarcerated him in 1747 when he tried to rescue his sister from gypsy abduction; he remains a phantom during the day but a human able touch others at night. Neither is prepared for unknown adversaries to covet her sword and attempt to murder those in possession of it.

The second Phantom urban romantic fantasy (see PHANTOM PLEASURES) is an engaging tale in which Hollywood collides with real magic. The story line is fast-paced and filled with action as Lauren tries to prove her skills on the silver screen are genuine in real life. Readers will relish Julie Leto¿s outstanding touch; especially with a bewildered Aiden. He struggles with understanding a world that makes no sense as he has seen moving pictures of Lauren in action performing incredible feats of daring do that he could never do; yet though competent she is nowhere near that super level of expertise. This is a exhilarating paranormal thriller starring a strong lead couple and a diabolically vile villain.
