Purpose: The purpose, according to the editors, "... is to make accessible to the primary care physician, as well as physicians in training, the advances in diagnosis and treatment of neurologic and psychiatric disorders." The editors point out that a significant proportion of the patients in primary care practices suffer from neuropsychiatric illnesses, making knowledge of this field essential. The editors and contributors of this volume have succeeded in producing a very readable textbook and reference guide.
Audience: The intended audience is primary care physicians. It would also benefit psychiatrists, neurologists, physiatrists, neurology, psychiatry, and geriatric psychiatry trainees, and any other professional who cares for patients with neurological and psychiatric disorders.
