Given the prevalence of substance abuse in general clinical populations, it is important for mental health professionals and healthcare providers to have knowledge and skill in the treatment of these problems. This text takes an evidence-based approach to discuss substance abuse disorders and their treatment, bringing together the best evidence from biology, Neuroscience, psychology, and sociology in an understandable and integrated fashion.
