About the Author:
I received my BA degree in Speech Communications from Rider University, Lawrenceville, NJ. As Regional Recruiter with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals I have identified talent, recruited Sales Reps and trained Managers. My extensive experience includes Sales Rep/Manager and or Recruiter with American Home Products (Wyeth), Ciba-Geigy (Novartis) Innovex and Pfizer.
I began my eighteen year sales career as Medical Sales Representative with Whitehall Laboratories where I launched new products and developed new territory.
I was rewarded for my sales ability and won several awards and top honors such as President's Cup. I joined Ciba-Geigy (Novartis) where again, I launched several new drugs and won several Sales Awards and Promotions. As Manager with Innovex (Quintiles), my experience increased as I began working with all of the major drug companies and learning the nuances and differences between pharmaceutical companies and their employees. My track record with Innovex for hiring and placing the best performing Sales Reps led the way to the development of the Recruitment Department.
I have interviewed, hired and placed over four-thousand Reps to work for the major drug companies. My experience training District Managers on interviewing skills and techniques in order to fit the right candidate with the right job, and following the success of the people I have placed and hired gives me great personal satisfaction.
Let me share the information that will allow you to determine and control your future.

PharmRepSelect landed me the job of my dreams. PharmRepSelect is written by an expert in the field that really knows how to communicate information that will keep you from giving up! The reason PharmRepSelect is different (and better) then the other books on the same subject is that it gives Encouragement. Out of the other four books I read about getting one of these jobs, it was PharmRepSelect book and Interview Insight CDs that made me feel the most confident and motivated to achieve my goal. None of the other books I read had this effect. In a job market that is crowded and frustrating with masses of people applying and interviewing, its very easy to give up. This kept me in the game. Of course this book is loaded with inside information, the dos and don'ts, but the big difference is the encouragement factor. If you give up on the interview process, you won't get the job. I landed my job offer because I did not give up. PharmRepSelect explained the mechanics of how these managers choose candidates and how to overcome these obstacles. I credit PharmRepSelect book, audio book and Interview Insight audio CD for landing me a job I thought I would never get! I was able to look, sound and act like the perfect candidate. Now I have the perfect job. This book and CDs are gold. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

After a recommendation from a Recruiter friend of mine to go read and listen to PharmRepSelect, by Lisa Alexander, I ordered the whole package, paperback, audio book and 'Interview Insight' CD. I figured the more information the better. I found the most helpful chapter in the paperback to be about interview techniques because by reading this material, I was able to understand why I will be asked these questions. I am the type of person that needs to understand 'why' in order to 'get it'. The Manager surveys were helpful also. The book used positive quotes and motivational type stories that got me energized to stick with this process until I succeeded. PharmRepSelect on audio CD is read by the author and is an original and personal but condensed version of her book. Use is as a refresher, or because you would rather listen instead of read but definitely worth getting. The blue CD called 'Interview Insight' really put me over the top. This CD is original because it let me listen to an expert answer questions the right way. Apparently, something I had not been doing on my previous eight interviews. This CD was the piece of the puzzel that got me to understand what I had been leaving out. PharmRepSelect is more than just a book, the package including book, audio book and Interview Insight CD is like an inexpensive mini workshop to success. My only complaint is that the CDs were hard to find, I wound up ordering the book and Interview Insight CD together and the audio book afterward. However you find them they will get you a job offer if you follow the guide, and if you don't get a job offer- you will feel good anyway. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Thanks , Lisa, I credit your book and new interview CD for getting me my job offer yesterday. Now that I am employed, I don't mind sharing my secret! I enjoyed PharmRepSelect book and Interview Insight CD because it made reading 'How to' books EASY! Less like an encyclopedia than the other books on the subject, I actually read it a few times. The CD was the most helpful for me, I listened and practiced until I sounded like you! My new manager told me I was his first choice! I start work next week. Was this review helpful? Lisa's book helped me land a second interview with a very large pharmaceutical company. I had read many many books- '3 Days to a Pharmaceutical Interview', 'Inside the World of Pharmaceutical Sales', 'Be Bright, Be Brief, Be Gone', 'Power Interviews'etc and had landed 3 interviews with large pharma companies on my own but I was never asked back for a second interview. I read Lisa's book in a few hours, answered the practice questions and nailed my next interview with glowing reviews from the hiring manager. He has now called me back for a second interview. After months of reading and research I would recommend you start with this publication. I don't believe you will need another but if you are trying to break into the industry and need more information on it as a whole I would read Jane William's 'Inside the World of Pharmaceutical Sales'. There are good questions in it as well and it provides a nice overview of the industry. If you want to PREPARE for an interview appropriately-read Lisa Alexander's book. I wish I had found Lisa's book and consulting services first! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

PharmRepSelect is a great book. The author's writing style is interesting and fun to read while being extremely informative about the job itself. I enjoyed this book because it had the author's personal stories and motivating quotes. This book actually got me so motivated to succeed and secure one of these jobs, that I followed all of the advice in the book. I did achieve my goal ( after a few tries) and am now employed with a mid size pharmaceutical company. I recommend this book over some others out there because unlike the other guide books, this book will make you feel good about your-self, even if you don't get your offer right away- it is so positive and motivational, you won't toss it after you get the job! I can't say that about any other guide books I have read. It's a keeper! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I purchased PharmRepSelect reluctantly because I thought I knew it all, but the job offers were not coming my way and with all the lay offs in this industry, my competition was increasing. Reluctant to be wrong, but thrilled to be taught, I learned appropriate interview techniques and practical information I did NOT know before(unless you have been working as a Sales Rep or Manager how would you know this stuff?) I became confident in my knowledge of the job responsibilities and my presentation skills reflected this. I was able to use this NEW information and within a few weeks I was offered a job with a biotech company. This is one good book! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
