This is a book about an alleged Navy experiment to make a ship disappear during WWII. According to the legend, the Navy, Einstein, and a few other geniuses rendered a ship completely invisible and during the experiment the ship supposedly `teleported¿ from one place to another. This, according to an eccentric fellow named Carlos Allende (Carl Allen?), had some rather unfortunate effects on the ship's crew. The lucky ones died, others went insane; some 'melted' with the ship when it rematerialized etc. Anyway, it's an interesting book and it makes you wonder whether this really happened or not and if not, whether it'd be possible to do using today's advanced technology. A great book, hard to know how much of it is true and what isn't (the Navy denies everything, of course), but it's still a very enjoyable thing to read. Was this review helpful?
