If you know what a Stateliner is, if you ever had a Jimmy's hot dog, or if you have ever known and loved a P'burger, then this is the book for you. Following an introduction to the history of this small, industrial New Jersey city on the Delaware River, Dr. Buscemi organizes hundreds of photographs into chapters such as: 'School Days', 'Sports', 'Transportation' and 'Disasters'; Phillipsburg is notable for all of these. Most chapters begin with a brief historical essay. Photo captions are complete and readable, making this more than a photo album. Photo reproduction is excellent, as it has been in the other 'Images of America Series' titles from Arcadia, such as 'Easton'. An affectionate and very affordable look at 'the last exit in New Jersey'.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
