PHOEBE DEAN....IS A REALLY GOOD CHRISTIAN NOVEL! ANYONE WHO LIKES THIS AUTHOR SHOULD READ PHOEBE DEANE! IT IS DEFINITELY ONE OF HER BEST WORKS!! WHOLESOME READING!

Phoebe Deane is a beautiful orphan who is forced to live with her much older half-brother, who is rather indifferent to say the least, and his jealous wife, who enjoys putting Phoebe to work a little more than she should. Phoebe accepts her life, disappointing as it is, and makes the best of it. But a middle-aged widower who lives nearby with his passle of ill-behaved children is about to turn her life upside down with his near obsession with making her his wife. Naturally, he has her family's support and they go out of their way to throw them together...unknowingly putting Phoebe in grave danger. But all this is made bearable by an unforgetable meeting with a handsome young stranger in the woods who is willing to protect Phoebe where her family will not.
A beautiful love story of faith, intrigue, and endurance that put me very much in mind of Cinderella.

    Wonderful Story!

This is a great story! It can be read alone but follows Marcia Schuyler and shares some characters. I suggest reading Marcia Schuyler first. Great characters!

    I Also Recommend:

    Sequel to Marcia Schuyler

Readers of Marcia Schuyler will enjoy hearing about "Mirandy" again. As usual, she saves the day. This seems to be a sequel to Marcia Schuyler. You will meet your old friends Maria and David again along with the addition to their family. You will also hear about Hannah and the Aunts. Phoebe is an orphaned girl that a mean rascal tries to take advantage of and force her to marry him. Thankfully Miranda comes to the rescue.

    Warning: Spoiler!

This story is nice for a light read...touching little romance in regular Grace Livingston Hill style -- poor refined girl marries well to do boy and it seems like they will live happily ever after.
