Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
Phoebe is a precocious young girl with everyday concerns about school, friends, and family life. She always tries real hard, but sometimes her efforts are too elaborate and over the top. For example, Phoebe only intended to help her teacher when she stuck Post-it stickers all over her face; she wanted everyone to be able to clearly see the important class rules that were written on them. This behavior earns her yet another visit to the principal's office. Fortunately Phoebe's teachers, principal, parents, and even her friends, are patient and understanding. Everyone is tolerant and accepting of Phoebe, except her older sister, Amanda. Eventually, even Amanda realizes that Phoebe means well, however misconstrued her actions may be. Phoebe is a likable character with a sense of humor, optimism, and a zest for life. Readers will enjoy accompanying her on her adventures. This book is part of the "Phoebe Flower's Adventures" series. 2002, Advantage Books, Ages 8 to 12.
