    Really makes sense

I bought this for my 4 1/2-year-old who will be going to kindergarten next year. I found out the school she will attend uses whole language instead of phonics. My son goes there but started in a different school and learned through phonics. I volunteer in his class now and see kids who don't know how to sound out words. They just read the wrong word and keep going. I decided to get a jump start on my daughter's learning by trying this. I'm never usually the type to push early learning, and I only work on the lessons if she wants to. She seems to really enjoy it and is definitely progressing. We're not very far, so I can't say whether or not she will continue to be excited about it.

One note is that this is not full of cutesy games to trick a child into wanting to learn. I don't have the energy for that. I like good solid learning that's engaging without being full of tricks. That's what this is.

Amazing - works incredibly well and adds logic to reading in place of my daughters school response "that some things just are wrong and don't do what they are supposed to visually memorize it and move on!"
