Children's Literature - Carrie Hane Hung
In a jungle, a young tiger is intrigued by a noise that it hears in the grass and he wanders off to seek its source. His sister tags along with him and they explore together. However, the two cubs do not locate the source of the rustling. Instead, they end up lost. The cubs try to find their way back to their mother but seem to travel on unfamiliar ground. Fortunately, the mother tiger finds her cubs and walks them back home. The illustrations are full-spread, color photographs that capture the feline beauty of the tigers. Young children may be captivated by the cute faces of the tiger cubs. There are "Fact Stop" insets with color photographs and general facts about tigers; some children may wish to explore other texts for further information on tigers. There are some knowledge level comprehension questions at the back of the book based on the factual information presented in the insets. Parents, caregivers, and teachers will find a brief introduction that has some helpful suggestions when using the text. This book is part of the "Photo Adventure Book" series.
