Are you a photographer and designer who wishes to use the digita

Are you a photographer and designer who wishes to use the digital darkroom, rather than the traditional darkroom for creative photographic illustration? If you are, then this book is for you! Authors Mark Galer and Philip Andrews, have done an outstanding job of writing a book that shows you the essential skills that are necessary for competent and creative image editing.

Galer and Andrews, begin with an overview of the new and changed features in Photoshop CC. Then, the authors show you how to use Mini Bridge to access assets inside Photoshop. They continue by showing you how to duplicate, optimize and save image files for print, presentation and for the web. Next, the authors show you how to apply localized corrections to images inside Adobe Camera Raw. Then, they cover the process of compensating for visual differences between the monitor preview and print. The authors continue by showing you the creative potential of layers, adjustment layers, channels and layer masks. Next, they show you how to develop skills in order to create and modify selections to isolate and mask image content. The authors continue by showing you how to use the Filter Gallery feature to apply several filters cumulatively. Next, they show you how to use the practical applications of layer blend modes for image retouching and creative compositing work. Then, the authors show you how to retouch and enhance images by using various techniques and tools. They then show you how to replace the background behind a model, while preserving the fine hair detail and the original shadow. Finally, they show you how to create a signature style by using color grade and split tone images.

This excellent book is a foundation module that is designed to help the user establish an effective working environment, and acts as a guide for the successful navigation through the image-editing process from capture to print. Throughout this great book, the authors also offer you a structured learning approach and an independent learning resource that will give you a framework for the techniques of digital imaging; as well as, the essential skills for personal creativity and communication.
