    Excellent resource.

I began my career as a retoucher with this book, and can attest to the quality of the information, extensive examples found inside, and ease of readability. I regret that I've loaned it out, never to see it again. Hence, I am ordering another copy for my book shelf. The book is about 8 years old, but is a timeless gem in the age of digital imaging. The book starts out with some excellent information on the science and theory of color and human perception. Mr. Kieran does this in a manner that is clear and concise that other books skip over. For whatever reason, the publishers, sadly, have not updated this potential classic with a new edition.

    Not for Beginners

This book is very hard to understand and hard to read all the way through. In my opinion it doesn't do a very good job of expaining color correction in layman terms. It also is confusing because it doesn't accomplish its examples in a step by step process. This is not a good book for teaching a class full of students... maybe it is a better book for individual learning for the more advanced students
