Good but not up to my expectations

I recently purchased Elements 8 software and I bought this book to help me to learn how to use the program. I read the first few chapters and started using Elements 8. Because the book is so large, rather than reading it cover to cover,I tried using it as a reference manual. When I encountered a problem using the program, I had a hard time finding a reference to my problem in the index. The book did cover most of the program functions but I found the index lacking. If you are familiar with earlier versions of Elements this book may be all you need but I was disappointed
