Its a really good book to get you started, BUT, if you haven't coded with a similar language (such as asp), you might be in for a surprise! The code you download from the website, and the code in examples in the book have multiple typos. I spent a few hours just finding some spaces in the code downloaded from their site--spaces that caused the contacts database to not run. Sure would be nice if they tested the code first. Given that, I would not consider this the 'fast&easy' development. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Im new to php, but not to programming. After comparing this book with many others I found myself always coming back to this book b/c it is straight foward and easy. This is a excellent buy, if you already have done cgi programming with perl. Also, if you are new to apache, mysql, and php installation, then this book offers a how-to installation section which covers both Linux and Windows. This book provides a lot of examples with clear explanation, so even if you don't have much programming experience don't worry this is the book for you.Was this review helpful?
