A perfect introduction to popular folk songs and classical pieces

This collection of 100 masterpieces is perfect for students ages 6 - 14. There are very easy songs for the young beginner as well as some more challenging pieces for the student playing two to three years. One of my students was excited about being able to play the easy, but well written versions of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, Mozart's Sonata in C and Chopin's Minute Waltz. Another student, 7 years old, delighted in playing Beethoven's Ode to Joy. The repertoire includes patriotic songs such as America the Beautiful as well as marches by John Philip Sousa. There are many fun and folk songs with the words to sing along. This book should be part of every beginner's repertoire. I truly believe that even the more experienced player would enjoy playing through these great works. I know that I did.

    Great for Beginners

I purchased this book for my son. He really is having fun with his keyboard and likes the songs in this book. He is working on getting me to try to play also...maybe. I have purchased a few books by this author and my son has liked each one because they are written so he can understand them.
