"The rhyme scheme flows smoothly and would be great fun as a read-aloud. The cut-paper collages are a standout, rich in texture, and with a vibrant seasonal palette." School Library Journal, September 1, 2013
"Chicken wire hexagons, a triangular slice of apple pie, and scarecrows dressed in polka dots and plaid add to the homey, down-on-the-farm mood, and Chernesky's bubbly rhymes keep the story moving swiftly." Publishers Weekly, June 21, 2013

What a great concept for a concept book! The spare rhyming text flows easily and the illustrations are gorgeous. It's a new family favorite for the fall. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

This is a great book. We picked it up a week before we went to pick our pumpkin. It was a excellent learning experience for our children. We were able to apply what was in the book into our real life hayride experience.GREAT book . I recommend it for all young children. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Chernesky has successfully entertained the reader in Pick a Circle, Gather Squares: A Fall Harvest of Shapes. Starting from the first page young children will notice bright colors and different shapes. While following a family through their fall adventure you can feel the crisp air and smell the apple pies. From the pumpkin patch, to the farm stand you are turning page after page to find out what shape will be coming up next. For young children this is definitely one that should be on the book shelf. It is a must read and i highly recommend it.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
