Pickle Puss is about Emily who has a brilliant plan at the library. She is going to read lots and lots and lots of books so that she can win first place in a contest for a cat. She wants to beat Dawn Bosco so that she can keep Pickle Puss, the cat, as her own. There is a one problem. Emily begins to cheat. I think Patricia Reilly Giff wanted to show her readers that cheating is not only bad but also makes you feel ugly. I liked this book because there were some funny parts along with a lesson about cheating.
