Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
What fun! These four friends are going on a picnic. They toss a salad, pop some popcorn, add fruit, sandwiches, and lots more. They head outside to find the perfect spot and enjoy all the goodies they have packed in the picnic basket. The border around the pages shows ants apparently making off with potato chips and little field mice enjoying the grapes, but no one seems to mind. The activities at the end of the book include creating a ring of popcorn and dried fruit to feed the birds, and creating a mural to depict a sunny day and all the activities associated with being outdoors. A Level 1 book in the "Green Light Readers" series.
