    Great help for beginners

Prior to purchasing this book I read the VideoStudio Pro X5 User Guide and viewed tutorials at the Corel website. I purchased the book because I had gaps in my understanding of how to use VideoStudio Pro X5. The book really helped put everything together for me. The step by step lessons were very helpful and helped me understand some things that I had read about in the User Guide. For someone who has performed video editting with another product and is switching to VideoStudio Pro X5, it may not be very helpful.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the figures in my copy of the book. The majority of the screens in the product have a black background, so the figures are mostly black. Many of the steps in the lessons have corresponding figures, and the lines used to point to different parts of the figures are blue/grey in color. It was hard to see what the lines pointed to in many of the figures. I think it would have been better to use red or lime/green for the lines.

I would highly recommend the book to video editting beginners using VideoStudio Pro X5.
