Editorial Reviews
All Music Guide - Thom Owens
Steve Kolander's second album, Pieces of a Puzzle, expands on his new traditionalist and progressive country leanings by boasting a tougher, leaner sound and a set of heart-felt, personal songs that manage to push the boundaries of honky-tonk and country-folk. Kolander rarely slips over the course of Pieces of a Puzzle. Throughout the album, he sounds assured and confident, giving his music more weight. It's a wonderful compilation of great songwriting -- check out his collaboration with Hank Cochran -- and excellent playing.
