One word to describe this CD by Stanley Turrentine is FABULOUS!.

One word to describe this CD by Stanley Turrentine is FABULOUS!....I saw the movie, Pieces of Dreams, which starred actors, Robert Forster and Lauren Hutton....The theme song in the movie was originally sung by Peggy Lee, in which I, at that time, I purchased the rpm record by her, that I still have....Sad to say, it was never remastered on a CD....Now, as a true lover of smooth jazz music, I was thrilled when I was able to buy Stanley Turrentine's "Pieces of Dreams" cd....No one plays the "sax" better than Mr. Turrentine....Great music!

    I Also Recommend:

    Stanley Turrentine: Pieces of Dreams

This album is my favorite of them all. It was given to me when I was 19 years old and I continiue to enjoy it at 47. The title track (Pieces of Dreams) became my favorite song during my lifetime and has been sung by Barbra Streisand as well as other soloists. The album as a whole is a romantic album, definitely something to be played at a wedding or simply to play when dancing with someone you truly love. The songs include the sounds of the ocean and outdoors and are songs that you can fall asleep to. Turrentine's Pieces of Dreams is one of those cozy blanket CDs and in my opinion, his sax is at its best here. I have suggested some other Turrentine CDs with a different style below.
