About the Author

Karen Gibson is a retired professor who now dedicates her time to writing. She spent a couple of decades teaching English and Speech Communication to middle and high school students before joining the faculty of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh as a member of the Educational Leadership and Policy Department. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English from UW-Oshkosh and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction/Educational Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. One of ten children, Karen draws inspiration from memories of growing up with a houseful of chaos and love. These days, Karen divides her time between Wisconsin and Arizona (for obvious reasons!) When she isn’t writing, she is cheering on the Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers, and the Green Bay Packers. She spends as much time as humanly possible with her favorite people—her three grown children and her granddaughters.
