Overview

Forget everything you know. Forget your name, your family, your boyfriend, even your face in the mirror. Now couple that confusion with terrifying flashbacks-or are they hallucinations-of things you've never done or seen.

Welcome to my haunting reality.

My name is Braidan, and I'm seventeen years old. I wake every day with no memories. Only a series of sticky notes hint at the life I supposedly lead, but unease in my gut says this isn't right. This isn't my true identity. All the clues I've left for myself say to search for answers. But how will that work when I'll forget everything the moment my mind drifts to sleep?

Ian, the new boy at school, claims the key to my walking coma lies in the hands of a scientific corporation. A corporation which wants nothing more than to see me never remember who I am. If what he says is true, I'm far more than just a girl with amnesia, and I've got precious little time to unlock my past and escape the destiny they've planned for me.

Pieces of Me depend on it.

Blink. Amnesia. Blink. Young adult love triangle. Blink. Sci-fi adventure. Blink. Wow – this book started out one way and went in so many different directions that I never saw coming. I love a good sob story. I love a good romance. I love science fiction. I thought I knew the plot but at every page turn I really had no idea what to expect or who to trust. I could not read this book fast enough. Great concept and characters. The only sad part was Uncle Ian. Great Read! Congrats!!

Eisley has written an incredibly fast paced, can't-put-it-down story that grabbed me from the first page... and had this "no electronics at the dinner table" momma violating her own rule, and giving her eldest a "pass" as well! (We were reading ARC pdf versions on our iPad/iTouch devices) Imagine having amnesia. . . imagine having recurring amnesia. . . you have no recollection at all of your name, your family, the day before. . . imagine pieces of your life written on sticky notes in various locations ~ sticky notes to guide you through your day. . . because tomorrow you'll forget. We get to know the main character, Braidan as she gets to know herself, and those around her. Who is telling the truth? Who can Braidan trust? What is really going on? "Pieces of Me" is well written, with character development and plot twists galore, so that I really had no idea what was going to happen next. It has been quite some time since I have read a novel and picked it up for a second read-through right away, because there were details and scenes that I wanted to revisit, to make sure I hadn't missed anything in the non-stop action of the book. The plot occasionally elicited the same sort of reaction that I had watching a Twilight Zone episode or two... perhaps an element of horror (Not of the likes of Stephen King, but more in the dystopian sense of something being dreadfully wrong), that kept me thinking about the story long after I put it down (for the second time). It was also very refreshing to read a Young Adult novel that doesn't contain foul language (*I* don't use it, sure hate to read it...), or sexual situations that I consider inappropriate. Thank you, Eisley! :) *Note~ I was given an advance reader copy pdf version of this book for the purpose of review. A positive review was not required, and all opinions are my own (Well... and my daughter's, since we both read and discussed the book. :) )

I purchased this book based soley on the description and now that i have read it, i must say it does not do it justice!! If you think this book looks great, then you are in for a real surprise. It is PHENOMENAL!! It was a roller coaster of emotions throughout the entire book. I laughed, i cried, i can't wait to read it again!! I absolutely fell in love with Braiden, Lucas and Ian, and many of the secondary characters. I couldn't possibley imagine having to face what Braiden does. Waking up day after day and not knowing who you are, only finding out from post its you have written to yourself. It is a race against the clock for Braiden to discover what is going on. The book is packed with action and doesn't let up.

I loved the way this book started out with a bang and continued with the fast pace. There was never a boring moment. I read it all in one day. I also thought there was room for a sequel, crossing my fingers!

Couldn't put it down! This story draws you in and doesn't let you out until it's over. Full of excitement and intrigue.

Braidan's unique amnesia is the hook that gets you started - not only does she not remember who she is, she forgets every day. And the mystery and suspense build through the book. Eisley has managed plot twists, mystery and suspense in a story with engaging, fully realized characters you come to really care about as the story progresses. Once you get into the heart of the story, the action doesn't let up, but it isn't action for the sake of action. The science fiction elements are not overdone - it is easy to forget the current impossibilities and get lost in the story. Overall, a wonderful read, and at the end, I was left wanting much more. Certainly a sign of a great book!

WOW! I couldn't put this book down! What a quick and fantastic read. The first chapter lures you in! Braidan is one of those characters you want to be best friends with! My heart aches for her in the beginning but throughout the story she becomes this strong, brave woman you go from weeping for to cheering on! This girl can kick some butt! The love triangle is a tangled web of emotions. My heart laughed and cried and screamed so much for these characters. A MUST READ! :-) I finished this in one sitting it was so good!

The way this book is written is such a huge part of why I couldn’t put this book down. I’ve got a huge stack of books that I’m trying to get through, so I don’t really remember the blurb for each book, and I go in blind. For this book, that was the PERFECT WAY to start. This book is told from Bray’s point of view, so when she wakes up, remembering nothing, being completely panicked about what’s happening, you’re right there with her. I could feel my heart racing and I was so clueless about where the book was going. Which brings me to my next point: YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THIS BOOK IS GOING. Whenever you’re finally clued in to what the main plot is, my actual response was, “wait, did I read that right?” It was so unexpected and so intricately thought out that I was completely taken off guard. Which was most likely on purpose. Bray was taken off guard when she figured out the truth, and so was the reader. That’s skill, right there. Props to Eisley Jacobs for plopping her readers right into the confusion of her main character. I dig it. I really don’t want to talk about the plot in detail because SO much of it is discovered by the reader as it is discovered by Braidan, so I apologize for the lack of plot commentary. It’s just SO great reading it without knowing anything! This book was exciting, start to finish. I look back and laugh, because as characters were introduced, I thought I knew exactly how that person’s storyline was going to play out. I was wrong for every. single. one.  I did not guess a single character correctly. And the way things finish was not even close to what I thought was going to happen. This plot line is unique and surprising and wonderful in every way. I’ve already started the second book in the series, and I absolutely cannot wait to see what’s next!
