Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
The Star Gate is destroyed; the TimeKeeper demons are storming across the borders of Tencendor, destroying deceased humans and gods alike. Only a few human survivors and two former gods have found safety, but their fleeting security means nothing against the devastation of their land. A powerful installment of Sara Douglass' Wayfarer Redemption epic fantasy series.

Meet the Author

Sara Douglass was born in Penola, a small farming settlement in the south of Australia, in 1957. She spent her early years chasing (and being chased by) sheep and collecting snakes before her parents transported her to the city of Adelaide and the more genteel surroundings of Methodist Ladies College. Having graduated, Sara then became a nurse on her parents' urging (it was both feminine and genteel) and spent seventeen years planning and then effecting her escape.

That escape came in the form of a Ph.D. in early modern English history. Sara and nursing finally parted company after a lengthy time of bare tolerance, and she took up a position as senior lecturer in medieval European history at the Bendigo campus of the Victorian University of La Trobe. Finding the departmental politics of academic life as intolerable as the emotional rigours of nursing, Sara needed to find another escape.

This took the form of one of Sara's childhood loves - books and writing. Spending some years practising writing novels, one of Sara's novels was published in Australia. BattleAxe (published in North America as The Wayfarer Redemption), the first in the Tencendor series, and found immediate success in Australia. Since 1995 Sara has become Australia's leading fantasy author and one of the country's top novelists. Her books are now sold around the world.

    Excellent entertainment!

Where with Sinner, I liked, but not loved, my love has returned for Tencendor in this book. It is as beautifully written as the first three and completely engaging. Instead of DragonStar being the pathetic hero, he is now a warrior, much reminiscent of Axis. A must read if you like the first three books.

    What i've come to expect......

....which is nothing but the best from Sara Douglass. Pilgrim lived up to my high standards and left me impatient for the last book. She continues to reinvent characters creatively and believeably - StarDrifter is now my favorite, never thought THAT would happen.

A must read, can not put down, page turning adventure

Sara Douglass has done it again in her fifth book of the Wayfarer redemption series. From demons, to gods, and to humanity discovering its true potential. All of this is told with the wonder and amazement that is sara douglass' imagination. This is a must read if you love fantasy novels or would just like a book whose charactors seem to come to life.

    Excellent epic fantasy

The Star Gate has been destroyed allowing the TimeKeeper Demons to enter Tencendor. The land is devastated as these killers destroy anything and everything whether the deceased was once human or gods. Their fate is the same as this malevolent horde march unstopped and unstoppable. --- Watching from what appears to be the last haven from the invincible demons remains a small group of humans and two former gods each awaits death feeling hopeless. Yet survivors remain struggling to destroy the Timekeeper Demons before they achieve their objective of bringing back to life their abomination of a leader Qeteb. If he returns Tencendor will be a total wasteland. An octet vows to save the soul of their land before the evil adversaries can reclaim the soul of their master. The humans and the once Gods split up in a race to save a beleaguered land from the abyss. --- This epic fantasy is a terrific tale starring more of an ensemble cast than usually found in the sub-genre. This enhances the feel that the land is about to be run over by dark forces. The collapse of the gate and several other elements bring a science fiction mix that further makes the fantasy rudiments seem genuine. Throw in the metamorphosis of life, death and rebirth inside a strong exhilarating story line and fans will totally enjoy a fabulous Wayfarer Redemption tale that will leave newcomers on a crusade to find previous tales and fans of Sara Douglass euphoric while awaiting the next installment. --- Harriet Klausner

    awesome!

ok i love this book it's better id' say then the wayfarer redmeption, because this one doesn't have to stick to the prophecy, unfortunatley as far as I know these three haven't been published in the u.s. yet, had to read a canadian copy.ok it takes place 40 years after the events in starman , and an ancient evil is stirring . soon it has destroyed the stardance , annd stargate, leaving the people of tenceador powerless. starson is the only one who can fight it, but with caelum powerless, what can they do? and what is going on with drago? haven't read the last book in this series yet, crusader, hope it's as good as this one!
