Probably the most human and accurate account of what it was like to be a Southern Planter before, during and after the Civil War. Deals with the real issues of the time from the historical perspective. Takes place in Natchez, MS at one of the most revered mansions, The Burn (Today an excellent Bed & Breakfast)
