    Not just a guitar book

Yes, this book is about the famous Black Strat of David Gilmour, but it is much more than a guitar book. Gilmour himself said it was "daft" to write a book about a a stock guitar he bought at Mannie's (NYC), but Phil Taylor his tech perservered to pull it all together. Of course it is the classic (and constantly updated, 3rd ed) reference on the life of an instrument and how it is a living thing that is always evolving as the the musical expression changes. For the interested audience, it is more importantly a history of the performances and music that makes Pink Floyd one of the most important bands to this day. A good read that deserves a broader readership.
