Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
Here is a series that is a saccharine as "Strawberry Shortcake." The stars of this series of books with names like Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Misty, Cotton Candy should tip off the reader. They are multi-colored ponies with big curly tails, lots of hair (manes), wide eyes and long eyelashes and believe it or not tattoos. This story is one with a strong message. The story is not new. The ponies are enjoying a sleep out. Rainbow Dash tells a spooky story and Pinkie Pie can't sleep. When she does finally doze off, she dreams the story and her nightmare wakes up her friends. The message is "Dreams can seem real," "But they're not." The support of the friends is what is real. 2003, Hasboro/Harper Collins, Ages 3 to 5.

I have a 3 and 5 year olds and they love anything to do with ponys! Its great at bedtime because it is not a very long story so busy moms and dad will like it

If you are looking for a well-written book - this is not it. It is a story, yes, and it has cute pictures, but engaging it is not. At least not for an adult. It is total eye candy for my 3 yr old and nothing more

Why isn't this on the New York Time's bestseller list? IT'S AMAZING!! Pinky Pie is soo brave, and fearless, and gallant, and courageous... I can't WAIT for the next Pinky Pie book!
