    A Funny Summer Read for Cat- and Dog-Lovers!

    Pinky Pye, by Eleanor Estes, is the fantastic sequel to Ginger Pye. When the Jerry and Rachel Pyes' ornithologist (bird expert) father is sent to Fire Island, NY for the summer, he invites his wife, Jerry, Rachel, the children's 3-year-old uncle Bennie, and their cat (Gracie) and dog (Ginger). On this small, tropical island, the Pyes and their pets find themselves heading towards exciting adventures. Here comes the introduction to the abandoned and orphaned furious black cat, Pinky, whom they adopt out of compassion. Finding Pinky is the least of the excitement, when they find out she can spar with Ginger, play games, type with Mr. Pye, and makes an ascent to the Pyes' summer cottage's eaves, thus revealing the most exciting and suspenseful part of the story!
