Overview

This release from Virgin Classics captures enigmatic Polish pianist Piotr Anderszewski live at a December 2008 recital in New York City’s legendary Carnegie Hall.

Beginning with a delicate reading of Bach’s Partita No. 2, Anderszewski moved on to Schumann’s Faschingsschwank aus Wien, giving an engaging, at times boisterous account. After this intense, draining performance, Bartók’s Three Hungarian Folksongs from the Csik District served to provide a gentle release.

This is an artist of the highest integrity and talent, captured on stage in a seminal performance. Not to be missed! From the Label
