The eldest daughter of five, Jenny grew up in Devon, UK. She had many fond memories of her father reading her stories at bedtime with various animated voices for little creatures. One book in particular, involving a little mouse and a wizard, captured her imagination and remained with her throughout her adult life. It was from this book that inspired her to write Pirate Mouse.
Pirate Mouse: Quite By Accidentby Jenny Hill, James & Lara Mumby-Croft
At the bottom of George's garden lived a little mouse called Tom. Tom Mouse had no home and no friends. He spent his long days learning to tightrope walk on the washing line and hoped that one day, George would notice him. He didn't want to be an ordinary mouse like the mice from the pet shop. He wanted to be a clever mouse who could walk on a tightrope. Trouble was, being a mouse and being so small, it was really rather hard to get noticed.
